To give you peace of mind, make sure your eNRMC provider can fulfil the following requirements:

  • All medicines, including S8s, can be prescribed without a paper-based prescription.
  • Data access is real-time, supported by the Cloud, but can also operate offline in WiFi blackspots. This is especially important in rural and remote areas.
  • It is an end-to-end system that supports direct communication between the aged care home, the prescriber and the pharmacist. Having to use phone, fax and standard email adds confusion and unnecessary steps in the process.
  • There is flexibility in the type of medication packing systems available to meet the differing needs of consumers.
  • There is interoperability throughout the system and its components.
  • The functionality is streamlined so no need to log in and out of system components.

WINNER Good Design Awards Gold Accolade

±ٱ-貹® 6 Dose (Parkinson’s) Wins Good Design Award Gold Accolade in Australia’s International Good Design Awards.

MEDIA RELEASE
The winners of Australia’s peak international design awards – the highest honour for design and innovation in the country were announced today during the 2020 Good Design Week.

±ٱ-貹® 6 Dose (Parkinson’s) received a prestigious Good Design Award Gold Accolade in the Communication Design Packaging category in recognition for outstanding design and innovation.

Managing Director Gerard Stevens AM says “We are incredibly proud to win this award. Medication management is a major concern for someone living with Parkinson’s and their families and ensuring adherence is key to improving the quality of life for patients,” said Gerard Stevens AM, Managing Director of سԹ. “This prompted سԹ, in partnership with Parkinson’s NSW, to develop a special medications folder specifically for Parkinson’s drugs.

Almost 14,000 Australians are diagnosed with Parkinson’s every year. While the disease cannot be cured its symptoms can be managed with a combination of medication and multidisciplinary support, enabling people with Parkinson’s to live independent and productive lives.

However, once medication is prescribed, it is lifelong and requires taking medications on time, every time. Current treatment largely relies on prescription drugs administered in tablet or capsule form and can involve multiple daily doses and complex dosing regimens. This complexity plays a part in poor compliance among patients. Some studies suggest non-compliance is as high as 67 percent.

About ±ٱ-貹® 6 Dose (Parkinson’s)

Webster-pak medication systems are packed by your local community pharmacy. They are the safest, most comprehensive medication systems available. The new Webster-pak 6 Dose (Parkinson’s) packaging system specifically supports people with Parkinson’s disease and other complex regimens, to manage their medications correctly according to their unique treatment plan.

The distinctive fuchsia Webster-pak folder sets out medication in a useful blister pack that arranges the medications and the specific times they need to be taken throughout the day. The Parkinson’s Webster-pak is specifically aimed at aged care facilities but is equally appropriate for home use.

The Parkinson’s Webster-pak is particularly useful in aged-care facilities where there are often numerous medication rounds to be made which can make it very challenging to deliver medication on-time every time. Feedback from the pilot was that the bright colour helped a lot as a visual prompt to give those medications first and at exactly the right time,” continued Mr Stevens.

The annual Good Design Awards is Australia’s oldest and most prestigious international Awards for design and innovation with a proud history dating back to 1958. The Awards celebrate the best new products and services on the Australian market, excellence in architectural design, engineering, fashion, digital and communication design, design strategy, social impact design and young designers.

More than 55 Good Design Awards Jurors evaluated each entry according to a strict set of design criteria which covers ‘good design’, ‘design innovation’ and ‘design impact’. Projects recognised with a Good Design Award must demonstrate excellence in good design and convince the Jury they are worthy of recognition at this level.

The Good Design Awards Jury praised , commenting: “A simple and clever idea that is very well executed. What an opportunity to provide a simple solution that suits a multitude of needs, creating clarity for patients, and reducing excess packaging in the process. This is adaptability at scale with a punchy colour and design.”

Dr. Brandon Gien, CEO of Good Design Australia said:
Receiving a Good Design Award is a significant achievement given the very high calibre and record number of entries received in 2020.”&Բ;

There’s no doubt it has been a really tough year for everyone so it’s nice to be able to share some good news for a change. The projects represented in this year’s Good Design Awards shine a positive light on our creative and innovative capacity as human beings. These inspirational winning projects give me hope and optimism that our design community will continue to innovate, no matter how challenging the world around us is,” said Dr. Gien.

Australia’s Good Design Award is more than a symbol of design excellence – it represents the hard work and dedication towards an innovative outcome that will ultimately make our lives better. These projects showcase the shear brilliance of design and the potential it has to improve our world,” said Dr. Gien.

The 2020 Good Design Awards attracted a record number of submissions with an astonishing 835 design projects evaluated in this year’s international design awards.

Our Most Important Safety Feature: Photo Identification /our-most-important-safety-feature-photo-identification/ /our-most-important-safety-feature-photo-identification/#respond Mon, 24 Aug 2020 04:43:03 +0000 https://webstercaredevclone.local/?p=2863 Facial recognition plays a critical role in supporting safe, intuitive and efficient medication administration. The resident photo is a core feature of all the medication systems we have developed for Aged Care.

Our Most Important Safety Feature: Photo Identification

Safe Medication Administration Relies on Facial Recognition

Computers may have surpassed the human brain at many tasks, but not yet with facial recognition, which is a highly evolved human capability. As a result, photo identification remains a crucial feature of systems that involve high-risk security and support human safety.

So it makes sense to apply this policy within .

The Face of RACF

RACF staff face huge demands – often run off their feet, with limited opportunity for high-level training to manage increasingly high-care needs of residents.

In such environments, often with locum staff, we must employ the best systems. This involves, maximising RACF staff adherence to duties and tasks, and minimising the risk of a harmful error impacting on a resident.

The systems employed by your facility need to be intuitive to support staff adherence to protocols. They should also offer an easy rhythm to daily tasks which supports efficiency and job satisfaction. The ‘icing on the cake’ – adherence offers the ultimate comfort that errors aren’t being made.

We Never Forget A Face

Facial recognition is a skill that requires no training. For this reason, the resident photo is a core element of all systems we develop for RACFs. From our gold standard medication system, Unit Dose 7®, to our iconic ±ٱ-貹® Multi Dose, and our convenient alternative, the Portion-pak® system. A large, high resolution colour image will quickly confirm the identity of residents.

The extra-large colour image of the resident on the front cover is also a feature of سԹ’s RxMedChart™ medication chart. In fact, photo identification remains the most consistent safety feature throughout our extensive range of medication systems, charting and software options.

Within busy RACF environments, where errors have life and death consequences, employing photo identification protocol is a ‘no-brainer’ decision. A simple glance can confirm with confidence, that the person in front of you matches the identity on your list.

Why A Unit Dose Medication System is Right for Your Facility

Unit Dose medication packs are the safest and most compliant type of dose administration aid for Residential Aged Care Facilities. سԹ developed the Unit Dose 7® system to simplify medication management, and bring safety and ease to your rounds. The Unit Dose 7® Webstercard™ is a disposable version that is lightweight and efficient.

Unit dose medication packs are safer for residents because they help reduce the risk of medication errors. The Unit Dose 7 system is more efficient for packing pharmacies, and consequently more economical for aged care facilities. With improved safety and efficiency in medication administration, facilities can better manage professional resources and focus on patient care.
