Portion-Pak is an individual multidose pack that is convenient, easy to administer, compact and provides additional safety and gives peace of mind for your facility, staff, residents and their families.

Portion-pak has an easy tear off option on each pack, staff simply peel back the lid and administer the medications directly from the pack.

The Portion-pak clearly identifies the resident with a colour photo ID, their full name, lists all medications, and each pack is colour coded to the time of day that the medication is to be administered. These safety features ensure that staff administer to the correct resident.

  • The Portion-pak can be temporarily reclosed for the duration of the round if, for example, the resident refuses their medication.
  • Staff simply reseal the label over the pack and try to administer later in the round.

Medication can be crushed directly in the pack, saving valuable time. Portion-Pak is the convenient solution for a resident on social leave. Also it can be easily stored in Medication Trolleys that have minimal space due to their convenient size and being extremely lightweight.

FAQs

What sizes does Portion-pak come in?
Portion-pak has the option of small and large blister sizes.

What kind of medications can be placed into Portion-pak?
ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï recommends that you use Portion-pak® for regular medications, but you can also use it for other medications such as antibiotics, warfarin and S8’s.

How big is the storage tray?
The storage tray fits 13 large or 26 small Portion-paks. These trays can also be stacked on top of each other, maximising your use of storage space. Medications can be administered directly from the storage tray, stored in the Portion Pak trolley if preferred.

Can the Admin tray fit into a trolley?
Three Administration Trays can fit across each slim Portion-pak Trolley, and each tray can hold 28 Portion-pak blisters. There is a fourth large drawer for PRNs and other Non-Packed items.

How do you deal with dosage changes or when medications are ceased?
The affected dosage time Portion-pak®strip gets re-packed by the Pharmacy.

What about S8’s?
S8s should be placed into a separate pack to retain separate accountability from other medications. Depending on facility needs – allowing for high/low before July 2014

What do you do with PRN’s, Antibiotics and short-term medications?
ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï has a range of packs available to suit the needs of the customer. For example Antibiotics pack, PRN packs, etc.
